Squarepusher is back with new album Dostrotime, recently released on 1st March, 2024. Dostrotime was recorded in the unexpected downtime that Squarepusher aka Tom Jenkinson found himself in after his 2020 tour was curtailed by the global pandemic and its subsequant lockdowns. Devoid of distractions, naturally Tom headed to the studio to begin recording, mindful of the ghosts of those lost shows and with the hope of euphoric crowds emerging after lockdown in his sights. The keen-eared will spot that Tom was playing versions of some of these pieces during the rescheduled Squarepusher shows of '21 and '22 as venues began to re-open. As such, Dostrotime is an attempt to capture the peculiarity of music catalysed by lockdown being part of the celebration of lockdown's demise. Dostrotime is Squarepusher-style fun. Heavy, intense, tear out experimental electronic music for the sheer exhilaration of it. Unapologetically, one for the Squarepunter Massive!
