Weir is a member of Dead & Company (featuring Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti), since its formation in 2015 the band completed 10 tours, performing to more than 4 million fans across 235 shows. Dead & Company wrapped the 2023 Final Tour with three sold-out concerts at Oracle Park in San Francisco, in front of 120,000 fans. This tour was the most successful tour in the band's eight-year history, drawing more than 840,000 fans and grossing nearly $115 million.

Weir is also a member of Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, who were formed in 2018 by Weir along with Don Was and Jay Lane. The band set out performing the expansive catalogue of Grateful Dead, Bobby's solo albums and more and has toured extensively throughout the U.S. The band has completed 8 full tours selling almost 300,000 tickets at headline shows including 84 sellouts.

Jeff Chimenti joined the Wolf Bros around the same time the band started featuring The Wolfpack in 2020, a string and brass quintet which brings an orchestral, symphonic element to the music of the Grateful Dead and features Alex Kelly, Brian Switzer, Adam Theis, Mads Tolling and Sheldon Brown. The band is also now joined by Barry Sless on pedal steel.

Weir along with the Wolf Bros joined by The Wolfpack embarked on a years-in-the-making four-night run debuting ensemble performances with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in the fall of 2022. They performed again with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at Atlanta Symphony Hall for three nights in February 2023.

Weir released Ace: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition in 2023, which features a performance from Weir along with the Wolf Bros joined by The Wolfpack at Radio City Music Hall in celebration of his beloved debut solo album, Ace. The band played the entire album live and welcomed a number of special guests, including Tyler Childers and Brittney Spencer.

In 2022, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros released their first ever vinyl collections of recorded material, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live in Colorado, on Third Man Records followed by Live in Colorado Vol. 2 in 2023. Both volumes feature songs recorded live at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in June 2021 and include Greg Leisz on pedal steel along with The Wolfpack.

Weir's Blue Mountain LP was released in 2016 on Columbia/Legacy/ROAR and marked his first album of solo material in more than 10 years and first album of entirely original material in more than 30 years. The album received raves from critics including NPR who called the LP "stately, autumnal, metaphysical cowboy songs."

Weir has been honored with Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association and is also a Les Paul Spirit Award recipient. He has also teamed up with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as a Goodwill Ambassador to raise awareness and mobilize support for the UN agency's work to end poverty while fighting climate change.

Weir has a partnership with D'Angelico Guitars for two signature models, the Bob Weir SS and Bob Weir Bedford. In 2017, the Bob Weir SS won the Editor's Choice Award for Guitar, Amps and Accessories at the Summer National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, while Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) nominated the Premier Bob Weir SS for Dealer's Choice Award in the Electric Guitar category. Music and Sound Retailer deemed the Deluxe Bob Weir Bedford the Best Electric Guitar of 2019.
